Autumn "P.M."
Kristina Ivy
When I think of Autumn, I’m reminded that it’s time to prepare for change. As I see the new colors of leaves swirling around my yard, and sniff the wood burning when my husband lights the first fire of the season, I remember my grandfather saying that a lil’ bit of “P.M.”, or preventive maintenance, goes a long way.
As far as translating “P.M.” to our bodies, a good place to start is with the skin. It occupies a lot of prime real estate, and it is a great barometer for when the time is afoot to give yourself a bit of extra attention.
Start by setting aside a bit of time in your busy day, then tackle this the way many of the best moments in life commence; get nekkid and touch yourself all over. Run your hand over your trouble spots, your forehead, your knees, your elbows, your feet, and wherever else may be applicable. As the air gets colder, it dries and so in turn does your skin, although to what degree is different for each individual.
Now that you’ve made a mental note of what areas need attention, it’s time for action! Your skin is toughening up to the bitter chill in the air. Get soft again with a sugary sweet, but all-business body exfoliation in ORIGINAL CLEMENTINE.
After bathing, while your skin is still wet, rub some of our OIL UP on as a general sealant, then spot treat trouble areas with a small dollop of BUTTER ALL OVER.
We recommend attending to your wind-whipped visage, by “getting lost in the melt”. How? Massage a dime-sized dollop of our MERINGUE CREAM CLEANSER into your face. The melted meringue is the perfect texture to break out a jade roller or facial massage wand. Slow down. Take your time (with tool or friendly fingers) visiting spots where brows begin, where hardened jaws whisper gossip to your lobes, all the while relaxing held tension and self doubts. Gently steam your face with a comfortably warm-hot washcloth to loosen any extra dirt that may have gotten in deep. Wipe all away. Chin up y’all. Using the Face Meringue Cream Cleanser will also soften any impending lines, which thrive on dry skin.
Follow these simple P.M. steps for keeping your body a well-oiled machine ready to pounce on opportunities in the new season.
